Posse Grounds of the Old West
Hike Sunrise Trail in Sedona's First Park
This area was used as a staging ground for the Sheriff's Posse of the Old West, where real cowboys roped and did their wrangling. This short hike takes you through a pinyon and juniper forest loaded with bear grass, agave, and prickly pear cactus. Ancient Native American Pueblo in Verde Valley
Journey back in time with Dino Diane! Over 1,000 years ago, Tuzigoot pueblo was a part of a vast trading network connecting the peoples of the Colorado Plateau to the jungles of Central America and the Pacific Coast. Built on a limestone ridge overlooking the floodplains of the Verde River, this 110-room stone village was the home of the Sinagua people, who tended their cotton and farm fields and hunted and gathered in the valley woodlands of juniper, shrub live oak, and pinyon pine.
